Is it possible to identify the amino acids on the protein which are not involved in ligand binding? I would like to see which type of residues are nearby.

You should check the Interaction table tab for identifying residues involved in ligand binding.

I can see interacting proteins, but I am looking to see ones which do not interact with my ligand, but are physically close to the ligand.

If a residue is close, it is interacting in some way. Maybe not specifically, like a hydrogen bonding but surely contributes to the binding energy.
